Boat Harbour, Chep Lap Kok (Hong Kong)
The scope of this project was the design and construction of a boat harbour for the Chep Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong. The harbour was constructed in 1993, by back-tipping rocks from 170 tonne dumper trucks. The rocks were shaped using derrick barges and an excavator. I worked on this project as a trainee site engineer, as part of the Boskalis trainee program. The aerial photograph shows the airport under construction and the completed boat harbour on the left side.
